Angelique Pringle 1846-1920

 

Angelique was a Scottish nurse who was widely considered Florence Nightingale’s favourite and a highly accomplished nurse. She became, alongside Elizabeth Barclay, the first fully trained matron for the Royal Infirmary in Edinburgh.

Elsie Stephenson 1916-1967

 

Elsie was English nurse who in 1956 became the first Director of Nursing Studies Unit at the Edinburgh University, the first of its kind in the UK.
