Scope and Content: This group of folder-based patient records consists of over 80 series of notes arranged by ward/department, clinician and/or medical specialty, ranging from the early 1920s to the mid-1970s. They came to LHSA as a group in 1988, along with some notes from other hospitals including Simpson Memorial Maternity Pavilion, the Royal Victoria Hospital and Gogarburn Emergency Hospital. Specialties include: ear nose and throat, gynaecology, cardio-thoracic surgery, ophthalmology, urology, neurology and diabetes, as well as general surgery and medicine. Many case notes are multi-authored, but particular clinicians and surgeons of note in the collection are: W.A.D. Adamson, Edwin Bramwell, G.L. Chiene, L.S.P. Davidson, Norman M. Dott, R. Gilchrist, J.R. Learmonth, W. Mercer, J.W. Struthers, and T.R.R. Todd.
