Name of creator(s): Sheila Scott

Administrative history: Sheila Scott was a theatre sister at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh and was instrumental in the development and implementation of the Procedure Pack Service. She worked with Doris Myles (see GD56).

Archival History: Custody of Sheila Scott prior to transfer to LHSA.

Immediate Source of Acquisition or Transfer: Donated to LHSA by family member of Sheila Scott in 2017.

 

Scope and Content: Items relating to Sheila Scott's time as a nurse at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh (RIE) and on the National Association of Theatre Nurses (NATN) Subcommittee on Policy for Staffing and Training of Operating Department Personnel. RIE materials relate primarily to the development of sterile dressings and the introduction of the Procedure Pack Service to the hospital. The collection includes: photographs of the Procedure Pack Service process; Theatre Service Centre reports and other reports on sterile supplies; materials related to hospital planning; correspondence, agendas, and meeting minutes from the NATN subcommittee.
