Name of creator(s): John Laidlaw (fl.1928-1999), hospital administrator
Biographical History: In 1928, after he left school, John Laidlaw began working at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh Works Department as a junior clerk. He qualified as a Chartered Secretary and, after the creation of the NHS in 1948, he became Deputy Secretary and Treasurer of the Board of Management of Edinburgh Central Hospitals.
