Services and AccessDigital Imaging and CopyingImages for your own Family History, Local History or History of Medicine Research LHSA will photograph up to five pages of records free of charge. These will be provided on the basis that they are not for publication, nor to be distributed to others. Please note that while the image will be legible, it may not be to the standard of a professionally produced photograph given limitations on LHSA staff time and available equipment. Where a request is made for more than five pages of images, all photography orders will be passed to the Centre for Research Collections’ Digital Imaging Unit (DIU) and a fee will be charged. For any queries, please contact us in the first instance. Images for Exhibitions LHSA images used in exhibitions, or their publicity material, must be high quality and will be produced for a fee by the Centre for Research Collections' Digital Imaging Unit (DIU). A permissions fee may also be charged separate to the DIU reproduction fee. LHSA may waive permissions fees for images used in exhibitions by local history, charitable or educational organisations.
Images for Publications All images for publications must be high quality and will be produced for a fee by the Centre for Research Collections' Digital Imaging Unit (DIU). A permissions fee may also be charged separate to the DIU reproduction fee. LHSA may waive permissions fees for publications produced by charities or for non-profit publications.
Where Digital Images are already held In some circumstances, LHSA may already have a digital copy of a requested image. In this case, no charge will be made for reproduction in the same format. Separate permissions fees may apply. LHSA Permissions to Reproduce Fees
