Administrative history: Within the Lothian region, the South Eastern Regional Hospital Board appointed Group Boards of Management in 1948.  The West Lothian Hospitals Board of Management oversaw Bangour General Hospital, Bangour Village Hospital, Bo’ness Hospital, Drumshoreland Hospital, St Michael’s Hospital and Tippethill Hospital. Boards of Management were replaced by Districts in 1974.
