The Physicians Library and the separate Library of Psychiatric Medicine were later combined as the Physchiatry Library housed in Kennedy Tower at the Royal Edinburgh Hospital and managed by the University of Edinburgh. When the majority of the Physicians Library passed to LHSA, volumes that were deemed to still have relevance to students (including the Journal of Mental Science) were retained by the University. In the process of a University stock review in 2006, the Journals were no longer deemed current and they came to LHSA. Volumes 6 and 7 were transferred as a later accrual in 2010.
