Name of creator(s): Catherine Bruce Samuel (b.1892), nurse
Biographical History: Born on 27th August 1892. Between 1917 and 1920 she trained as a fever nurse at City Hospital, and in 1922 came to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh to train in general nursing. She gained her certificates in 1925 and was appointed Staff Nurse in April, and Theatre Charge Nurse in October of that year. On 31st October 1929 she left the Royal Infirmary to take up a post of School Nurse.
